Speaking at the meeting, Uong Chu Luu assessed that the 22nd Assembly of the World Peace Council had been a great success, completing the proposed agenda such as approving a Political Declaration, electing the new Executive Committee, and successfully organizing the Hanoi Peace Conference.

“Over the working days in Hanoi and Quang Ninh, the delegates have witnessed the positive changes of Vietnam – a country that has gone through a long period of painful and brutal wars. Delegates have also brought to Vietnam a sense of solidarity, and contributed your valuable opinions and profound comments on the peace situation regionally and globally” said Uong Chu Luu.

At the meeting, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hanh – Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Committee, President of Quang Ninh Union of Friendship Organizations congratulated the success of the 22nd Assembly and the newly elected Executive Committee of the World Peace Council.

Quang Ninh has many outstanding advantages. This province has a rich and diverse culture, with the mining class’ “disciplined and concentric” tradition. Quang Ninh is likened to a “miniature Vietnam”, as it has land and sea borders with China and is identified as a gateway and bridge connecting with ASEAN countries and the Northeast region. Ha Long Bay has been twice recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage.

Quang Ninh has a synchronous and modern transport infrastructure system, the only province with a highway system running along the province. In addition, there is an advanced education, health and social infrastructure system, which ranks among the top positions for 5 consecutive years (from 2017 to 2021) and lies in group of 5 provinces and cities with the best quality of economic management in 9 consecutive years (from 2013 to 2021).

The representative of Quang Ninh province expressed her wish that the program in Quang Ninh would contribute to deepening the solidarity, friendship and efforts for a peaceful and prosperous world, democracy and social progress while increasing understanding and opening up opportunities for future cooperation.
