November is Significant for Vietnam-DPRK’s Relations

Thanh Nga represents Vietnam to compete at Mrs Universe 2022

This marks the first time that the nation sent a Vietnamese representative to compete at the international beauty pageant. Nga, who graduated from Foreign Trade University in Ho Chi Minh City, worked for a retail giant in the United States and then ran her own company operating in fine art stone, building materials, and interior decoration. Currently, she is the CEO of a diamond and jewelry company. Mrs. Universe is an annual international event held for “the most honorable married woman” and was first organised in Sofia, Bulgaria, back in 2007. The event is open to married, divorced, and widowed women from nations on all continents across the world who are between the ages of 18 and 55, have a family and career, and are involved in a “significant cause”. The upcoming pageant is expected to attract the participation of outstanding women from 100 countries globally. Borussia Dortmund football stars play friendly against VN children

The German footballers hold an exchange with local children on November 29 at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in Hanoi. The young footballers are eager to share a pitch with their heroes from Borussia Dortmund. The players from the Bundesliga side enthusiastically show off their skills to the children. This is the first trip to Vietnam for many German players, including midfielder Emre Can. The match sees local children cause difficulties for the foreign football stars. The children go on to stun both their guests and spectators by beating the German side 4-0. Borussia Dortmund FC’s players are practising at the My Dinh National Stadium ahead of their friendly fixture against Vietnam on November 30. Francophone book space opens in Can Tho

Nguyen Minh Tuan, director of the Can Tho municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, says the space has great significance as it meets the needs of local readers wishing to learn and research documents in the French language. Kaloyan Kolevs, an officer in charge of cooperation programmes of the representative office of OIF in Asia-Pacific, (L) presents a total of 727 French books to the Can Tho City Library. The space has attracted plenty of local students who are currently studying a Vietnamese-French bilingual programme. Indeed, French is taught at 22 out of 276 primary, secondary, and high schools in Can Tho. Students sing French songs and tell French stories at the Francophone book space in Can Tho. Every time  Pham Thi Hai Am looked at old photos she took with her comrades, tears welled up in her eyes as she recalled the hardships of the battlefield and missed her departed comrades.  Pham Thi Hai Am is happy to see her comrades again through photos displayed at the National Archives Centre III. Recently, she donated her memorabilia to the National Archives Centre III (Hanoi) in the hope that her story of war will forever be told to the next generation.
